This kit enables students to build their own mechanically rechargeable torch.  Integrating a crank based charging system into the body of the torch students can generate their own energy and see it in action.  
 
A 12:1 speed increase improves the energy yield from a compact form.  Energy is stored in two 3.7V 1F supercapacitors which yields a total of 5v at 0.5F.

Please note that the brass is supplied as lengths so will need students to cut individual pieces.  Please enquire if you need fully prepared pieces.
DIY Laser cutting option:  In this kit you will receive all materials needed to produce 50 torches, except for the middle and rear board.  Once ordered you will be e-mailed the.dxf files for the boards which you can laser cut in house, using your choice of materials (up to 3mm thickness).
 
The Full Kit includes all pieces required to build the kit and gives students a great opportunity to take a functional core into an outercasing they design, giving opportunities to work with ergonomics, 3D modelling and vacuum forming.
